When I tell people I have been an avid NASCAR fan since I was seven years old, I often receive the same question. Why? On the surface, it’s a fair question. Why is it that former theater kid and high school golfer from the Bay Area is spending his Sundays watching cars go around in circles?

I answer that my passion for the sport is not just about racing, there is so much depth beyond what is seen on the surface.

NASCAR has a rich history of stories, characters, triumphs, tragedies, rivalries, and moments that are all truly unique.

I started The Flagstand because I want to share with you the parts of NASCAR that have fostered my lifelong interest in this sport. I hope you enjoy reading them as much as I enjoy telling them.
